“The largest benefit of all is having the assemblies and daily practices that show students the tools they’ll need, the words they’re supposed to use, and the way their body is supposed to look when solving a problem. They get up and actually practice – they are participating and not just having someone lecture them.”

“The peace program is an exceptional program that I have been searching for most of my years teaching in the classrrom. Students need specific tools to learn how to handle social conflicts. I have seen this program change how my students view conflicts and guide them toward learning to have confidence in facing the conflicts together.”

“It was an honor working with Peace Coach and I had a lot of fun teaching little kids to solve their problems more peacefully. I am officially a “Peace Coach” and I will be forever.”

“This is a great program with a lot of role-playing activities where the students are able to practice the skills they have learned. I particularly like the activities where the older students teach the younger students. It is a win-win for both groups.”

“My students love to participate in the Peace Coach practices. Each morning they ask me when are we going to do our practice for the day. Also, I have seen growth in the students’ responses and attitudes from the beginning to the end of each lesson practice.”

“This program has helped our school by having all staff members use the same vocabulary for problem solving or bullying issues. It has also helped our school by giving students ways to solve their problems independently, without constantly needing adult help. It has helped to cut down on teacher instructions when there is a problem.”

“I’ve always loved to act and to interact with younger kids, so being a peace coach was super fitting. I love the fact that it teaches kids life lessons and tips to use in their everyday life. I am really going to miss this experience but I will remember it throughout the years to come.”

“Peace Coach assemblies might not have a lot of bells and whistles, but when a child sees their older sibling, or older buddy, or their friend’s friend on stage, it’s very effective. The older kids come through nicely, too.”

I would like to thank Peace Coach LLC and Sue Kendall for leading Samantha, Elyse and the entire Girl Scout Troop 71300 through an inspiring and enlightening series of life lessons These skits were eye-opening, thought provoking, behavior oriented demonstrations of the challenges, dangers, and pit falls of childhood and adolescence, which were as beneficial for the parents as they were for the girl scouts. I can’t think of a more educational, yet fun, girl scout presentation for the girl scouts as well as the parents who were lucky enough to witness these vignettes. I would strongly recommend that every girl scout troop be required to conduct a Peace Coach presentation as part of the overall girl scout experience.

This month’s lesson has been great! We have been able to actually discuss and talk about real issues we have in the classroom that relate to the scenarios you had us practice every morning. For example, one was how to react if you don’t get your way. This happens ALL of the time with my kiddos when they play games in my classroom. It sometimes ensues in someone raising their voice at another student or not following the rules. So we talk about this and we’ve had some great discussions!

“The ‘Peace Coach’ program has been a wonderful enhancement to our school culture! Students are given the necessary vocabulary, tools, and strategies to effectively resolve conflict in a positive manner. The multi-grade curriculum empowers our older students to be positive role models as they guide and instruct our younger students through various conflict resolution skills. I have witnessed children as young as Kindergarten utilize strategies to peacefully resolve their disagreements. This program is a wise investment for growing positive leaders within your school community!”

“Peace Coach assemblies weren’t just boring things that you go to, they were fun interactive skits that showed valuable lessons.”

“I am excited to see the K and 1st grade students start the program this year. When they become the 7th and 8th grade students, they will be teaching the next generation of K and 1st grade students. Think of the handle they will have on the material and the life experience that they will be able to share with them.”

“My favorite part of the peace program was getting up and actually performing in front of the little kids and teaching them moral lessons. It was pretty cool and I had fun while doing it.”

“One lesson I found especially effective was the idea of “letting go of the rope.” The visual of the students having a “verbal” tug of war left an impression upon my class. Several students returned from lunch/recess one day and were excited to tell me they had resolved a problem at recess by ‘letting go of the rope.’ They were proud that they could handle it themselves.”

“I think Peace Coachhelps to show kids the proper way to behave and I wish my old school did this.”

One thing I really liked about the Peace Coach skits was the way all the girls got along doing them. We all had a lot of fun and want to do it again.

“What I liked about the peace program skits and lessons was that they were actual scenarios that could happen. They helped me understand what I should do if I was ever in one of those situations, how to say “no”, and how to treat other people.”
